This got me interested in the vita again.
Rebuilt the cable that I used back in 2017 (but somehow threw away when I stoped working on stuff in the vita scene..)
Used a female mini usb connector because it has those bent pins that make sure it makes contact. Also its very durable.
Already unplugged and replugged it like 50 times without breaking it.

To manufacture it just remove the shielding of the female usb mini connector and file it down from the side without pins

Was able to sand it down even more to make it fit even better

Next step will be to add a boostconverter to make it work without external power.. and maybe also create a 3dprinted shell for it to make it even more durable

Update:

Still has some issues - disconnects after mounting. will report back when fixed.

Update 2:
Turns out the power which can be delivered by the 3.3V rail from the vita is extremely low. By optimizing the circuit I used I could achieve filetransfers but not very stable.
My USB drive only used 0.02A during write. It was the only one out of 15 pcs that kinda worked.

Accessory Port power delivery on 3.3v VBUS....

0.02 amps on 10A mode
15.85 on 300mA mode
200 ohm load

Not looking good.

I might be a retard though.

Accessory Port is theorized to be MHL by Deppressiety, here is some evidence we gathered to support it:
MHL standard was created in June 2010, development known to be starting as early as 2010, with Sony co-developing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_High-Definition_Link

The PS VITA was released Dec 2011 in Japan: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Vita

The Galaxy S2, one of the first devices to support MHL doesn't seem to have dedicated HDMI/MHL hardware: https://news.samsung.com/global/galaxy-s-ii-teardown-splitting-8-9-mm-of-the-latest-samsung-technologies

5 Pins is enough to do MHL 1.0.

20mA can't power most shit.

HDMI CEC is connected to Syscon on PS4 and PS3. The ID pin on the Vita would be CEC on MHL and is connected to the Syscon.

This is all speculative and is what Sony may have used the port for, there is no evidence that MHL would actually work.

Was able to pull a lot more current (up to 300mA @ 5V).
Usb drives now work mostly stable but I need to wait for parts to arrive to make it completly stable

Looking at the Chinese forums, it seems that there exists multi-ctn that has all the pins populated.

This is most likely a micro-usb to multi-ctn adapter that can be found on Aliexpress, you can search for "PSV1000 adapter micro".

There are some on Amazon that command a hefty price tag:

It was rumored that the converters from Aliexpress for PSV1000 from the port on the bottom to microUSB are only for charging, not for data transfer.

I can confirm that DS3/DS4 controllers can be used in the same way as on the PSTV using an OTG y cable, the same syscon patch, and minivitatv. Controller can be used while wired and will automatically pair.
